Hypoestes phyllostachya | Polka Dot Begonia

This cheerful little plant can bring some color into your home with it’s speckled pink and green leaves.

Polka dot begonia likes medium light at an east window or a little ways back from a west facing window. Too much sun exposure will make the leaves become washed out or even burnt. Keep the plant evenly moist, not allowing it to dry out. It’s a good idea to put it on a pebble tray or in a terrarium to keep the humidity high. When it comes to repotting this plant, two things need to be a balanced: polka dot begonias like to be snug in their pot but there soil does need to be refreshed regularly. It’s recommended that you repot this plant yearly, in the spring, increasing the pot size slightly each time.
